The BrazilianGuilherme Torres is a perfectionist, with a degree of poetic license, having part of it poured onto his skin. One of his tattoos “Work it harder, better, faster, make it over,” is so to speak a form of celebration of his work. The architect, who founded his company in 2001 bearing his name, loves to work surrounded by creative and enthusiastic youngsters.

Light House

Guilherme Torres has completed a project for a bright modern home in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The building may have been built in the late 1950s, and although it is located in the heart of the city, it was built in a tree-lined neighborhood, presenting a variety of styles due to ongoing expansion and renovation, but with an ideal area. Then an ambitious renovation project began, reconfiguring all the Spaces and bringing the building into the present.

The owners' requirement was that the house be very bright, have as many openings as possible and use materials that reflect natural light. To this end, a minimalist aluminum and glass frame is used, white marble is explored throughout the first floor, some walls are made of travertine, and the entire exterior area is made of this material. Revolving doors and walls used to hide openings and cabinets are covered with Accoya, a highly resistant Scandinavian pine with a natural grey hue. On top of that, the house ended up with a roof that could have been used for three children.

Tree House

When Guilherme Torres saw the trees around him, he had to bring them into the project. It elevates the public areas, including the swimming pool, around the idea of the house hanging and hidden between a series of tree trunks and canopies to create comfort and privacy. Large French Windows bring nature into the interior. However, the ground floor is not forgotten: it USES the site's topography to create beautiful concrete steps filled with water and plants that surround the outdoor kitchen at the end of the terrain.

Wing House

Guilherme Torres has completed a unique and natural home in Brazil. The architect is a perfectionist who is passionate about architecture. Many things happened between the building of the house, which made him realize that although time does not stop, architecture is eternal. The aim of the project is to allow all rooms to enjoy the same natural beauty.

该项目的一个关键点是创建一个戏剧性的自由跨度，框架自然，容纳住宅和车库的主要通道。为了利用这种效果，一个覆盖着铜质的山墙将场地切成两半，支撑着住宅的上部结构，并与住宅简单的雕塑式建筑形成对比。

A key point of the project was to create a dramatic free span, framed naturally, that accommodates the house and the main access to the garage. To take advantage of this effect, a copper-covered gable cuts the site in half, supporting the superstructure of the house and contrasting it with the house's simple sculptural architecture.

The owner's request was to welcome the family weekend in the house, another request was to make full use of the views of the back valley, which is a permanently protected area, in addition, the house was designed entirely with exposed concrete. The first idea was to explore the slope of the land, combining the living room with the kitchen and swimming pool at the lowest level of the building. In the service structure on the central level, there is a small home theater and an office/guest room, while the upper level is reserved for 3 suites.
